My Personal Profile

What Type of Learner am I?

I am a visual learner and prefer to learn by looking and seeing. From viewing the information on my blueprint I have gathered that a visual learner likely enjoys taking detailed notes and uses graphs and diagrams to help their understanding. For me, as a visual learner, my main ways to study or learn a new topic include highlighting/underlining important topics and definitions along with creating mind maps to help me understand how the topics are related to each other. I also enjoy making mental diagrams and thinking about how a change could affect a sequence of events in my head.

I believe that being a visual learner relates to my dream career; forensic science, because being a forensic scientist requires skills in pattern recognition, and spatial visualization. With a preference for visual learning, I would be capable of mentally piecing together the sequence of events that could have led to a crime using clues like blood splatters, room layout, bullets, etc. Another pro would be the skill to accurately visually record a scene using sketching or photography. Being a visual learner would help me with this because of my skill to work with mental diagrams and visuals.

What Type of Communicator am I?

INFP

  • Intraversion
  • Intuition
  • Feeling
  • Percieving
  • An INFP is someone who prefers working in small groups, thinking deeply, and harmony with others and views issues as complex by seeing the bigger picture.

The personality traits of an INFP relate to the job of a forensic scientist especially when it comes to collecting information and viewing the bigger picture. This is because rather than simply viewing the data, INFP’s are skilled at connecting the dots and thinking outside the box, which could help reconstruct how a crime had occurred. In addition, since INFP’s are introverts, they are usually more perceptive of subtle changes in human behaviours which could help when working in forensic psychology.

    Multiple Intelligences

  • Spacial - 4.29
  • Self - 4
  • Language - 3.86
  • Through the multiple intelligences survey, I have found that I have a preference for posters, charts, graphics and enjoy working by myself and reading books.

Having spatial intelligence is important in the field of forensic science, helping with analyzing evidence and using technologies such as 3D imaging. In the lab, sometimes forensic scientists must mentally piece together bone fragments or other pieces of evidence which can be made easier with skills in spatial intelligence. Furthermore, using technologies like 3D imaging requires spatial intelligence because it helps in interpreting the scale, diagrams, and digital models of crime scenes.
